gwendolyn faith is not a crayon.

Hello, I’m Gwen.

I work in advertising. I play in the kitchen.

I’m part tweenager. (Look at my iTunes playlist.)

I’m part Grandma. (Look at my oversize cardi collection.)

I’m part Romy or Michelle. (Look at the height of my hair.)

As a Christian, I'm learning how to glorify God in the everyday. To live into the status quo, like Jesus' own Manchurian candidate, and seep grace through its cracks.

I wish my life were a musical, but other than that, I’m pretty content.

(No surprise I also like to Yelp.)

Wall art by Madre — perhaps the coolest aspect of my new apartment, which is slowly but surely coming together. (Thanks, Mom and Dad, for your help with the move!)

T-minus six days ‘til Dipika and I move into our new apartment! Although I still haven’t spotted the kitchen chairs of my dreams, I did find a coffee table (on sale!) and accent pillows today at West Elm.

I dreamed a dream of a fuchsia area rug to sit under my kitchen table, but after weeks of searching, I still haven’t found one in my miniscule price range. (Life has killed the dream I dreamed.)

I’m all about the gallery wall.

And pops of fuchsia.

We keep seeing the beloved gallery wall pop up every where from Elle Decor to Pinterest. From dinning rooms and bedrooms to entry ways and kitchens, gallery walls are a perfect way to display paintings and pictures you have collected throughout the years.

The piece One Morning by Matt Messinger has been rolling ‘round in my brain ever since Sugarlaws’ Katy Atlas tweeted it last week. The print is available via Gallery Direct.

If you haven’t seen the pictures of Kyle DeWoody’s home yet featured on, get ready to swoon. Kyle is the creative director and cofounder of the interior design store, Grey Area. Located in Greenwich Village, her apartment showcases everything from modern art to flea market finds. There’s nothing we love more than inspiring interiors. For the entire feature, be sure check out the article here. Enjoy! - GOLP

My dream dining area, at least for today: A rustic table with mix-and-match Tolix chairs. The chalkboard’s the perfect icing on the cake. (Click through for more design ideas that are making me swoon!)

My mom, who often painted when my brother and I were younger, offered to paint a piece to hang in my bedroom in my new apartment. We’re turning to Cocoa and Hearts for inspiration. Take a look around!

My first purchases for the new apartment: Macy’s Arlene Sofa and West Elm’s Parsons Metal Desk.

I’d like nothing more than to design a room around a gorgeous painting, but my mom, a decorator extraordinaire, cautioned against buying artwork, accessories and accent pieces ’til I’ve settled into my new place. (Can’t pick a piece of artwork that really fits the bill ’til you know the room’s dimensions, layout, lighting and overall feel, Mom said.)

Instead, I’ve been searching for basics, like a couch and a desk. (Check!) I’m still on the prowl for a kitchen table — hopefully with a pair of upholstered chairs.
